Brass castings are widely used in machinery manufacturing, ships, aviation, automobile, construction and other industrial sectors, in heavy non-ferrous metal materials occupy a certain weight, the formation of cast brass series.
 

 

 

Copper alloys with zinc as the main alloying element are often called brass. Copper and zinc binary alloy is called ordinary brass, and a small amount of other elements are added to the copper and zinc alloy based on three, four or multiple brass, known as special brass.
 
The casting brass is a casting alloy based on Cu-Zn binary alloy, whose crystallization temperature interval is small and casting performance is good. Compared with tin bronze, cast brass has higher mechanical properties. In addition, because brass contains a lot of zinc, so the cost is lower. These are the reasons why cast brass is widely used.

Brass has the characteristic of shell solidification and is less sensitive to casting cooling rate, so its mechanical properties are less sensitive to the change of casting wall thickness.Binary brass is hardly used in casting production. In order to meet the special performance requirements and improve the casting process performance, multiple brass casting parts are widely used.
 
The casting properties of cast brass are characterized by a great tendency of evaporation and oxidation of zinc during smelting and pouring. The cast brass has good fluidity, but the manganese brass shrinks greatly, and is prone to shrinkage cavity, cold crack, deformation and other problems.
