Process principle and characteristics of cross column in steel structure

Cross section steel column in building steel structure is more and more widely used in steel structure engineering because of the advantages of good bidirectional force performance, simple processing and production, especially in the high-rise steel structure of steel-mixed structure column, which is particularly prominent.

The traditional cross column manufacturing process is composed of a H-shaped steel column and two T-shaped columns welded together. This process technology is relatively mature, and has been recognized and widely promoted by many enterprises in technology. On the basis of the original mature technology, from the perspective of technological innovation and cost reduction and efficiency increase, our company has made some improvements in the manufacturing technology of cross column, and through relevant tests and a large number of typical engineering cases, the feasibility and superiority of the new technology have been demonstrated.

Process principle and characteristics of steel structure cross column:

(1) Process principle

It is mainly made of two H-shaped steel columns, by cutting half the length of the member slot on the steel column web, and then the two H-shaped steel into each other 90° on the tire frame. This method can not only reduce the workload of assembly, but also greatly reduce the welding deformation. Compared with the traditional production scheme, the production is more simplified, and for the small cross section is not easy to operate, the operation with this process scheme is more handy.

(2) Process characteristics

It is suitable for the production of various cross sections with web thickness ≥16mm: the production method is simple and the operation is simple, which can reduce the production process and shorten the production cycle of steel structure companies. The dimensional accuracy is easy to ensure and the welding deformation is easy to control.
