What is the difference between the grid and steel structure?

Grid structure is a kind of steel structure and belongs to the same type of steel structure. However, the difference between grid structure and steel structure lies in the connection mode, the use of steel structure materials and the structural form and structural system:

In connection mode:

1. Network frame nodes are regarded as articulated nodes, usually connected by bolts;

2. Steel structural joints are regarded as rigid joints and are usually welded.

In terms of materials and forms:

1. Steel structure is said from the material of steel structure

2. The grid is developed from the structural form

Network frame can include steel network frame, aluminum alloy network frame and so on, but most of them are steel network frame in practical application. In addition to steel network frame, steel structure also has steel frame, steel portal frame and so on.

In terms of structural system:

1. Grid is a kind of spatial structure system, and the overall stress and spatial deformation should be considered in calculation;

2. Steel structure truss is similar to plane steel truss and belongs to unidirectional stress structure. As long as the strength and stability in the plane are calculated, the stability out of the plane depends mainly on the support and tie rods.
